Bacterial vaginosis (BV):
Marked by an increased vaginal pH, milky creamy discharge, and amine or fishy odor accompanied by itching. However it is characterized by loss or reduction of lactobacilli and increased overgrowth of other bacteria. It is the most frequent vaginal infection in women of child bearing age with prevalence ranging from 10% to 50% .
